Nellie’s Cafe Lincoln sits just past the speed camera on the A57 in Newton on Trent, serving as a solid, familiar stop for those heading through the area, whether on a commute or a weekend outing. This cafe leans into the classic British breakfast experience, offering well-sized portions like the Full English Breakfast and poached eggs on toast alongside staples such as baked beans. The atmosphere is straightforward and welcoming, with friendly staff who seem genuinely pleased to see regulars and newcomers alike.

It's clear from the flow of customers and the food on the tables that this spot works well for an early morning lift or a leisurely brunch, especially for locals looking for an unfussy, reliably good meal before tackling the day. The service has a comfortable, unhurried pace—even on a busy weekday morning—making it a practical pit stop for anyone in need of a full plate and a refillable cup of tea or coffee.

The menu variety is broad enough to keep weekly frequenters satisfied, as seen in the range from traditional breakfasts to freshly cooked burgers, which can suit smaller groups or families out for brunch. Those who come here tend to appreciate the value and familiarity—no pretense, just solid food served with friendly, polite service.

For timing, visiting before the late morning rush is ideal if you want a quieter spot to recharge, though the cafe holds steady into the early afternoon for those opting to brunch rather than breakfast. The straightforward setting, with its local charm, draws a mix of workers, families, and travelers passing through, making Nellie’s a comfortably casual part of daily life in this corner of Lincolnshire.

I normally visit Nellie's Cafe on my way to Girton carp lake. The Cafe staff are always friendly, and the breakfast menu is great. Just how an English cafe should be.
